Being a photographer is so much more than having the “eye”. Investing appropriately in equipment, maintenance and upgrading gives a photographer the tools they need to create their vision. Furthermore, learning to use Lightroom and Photoshop appropriately versus applying ready made presets is critical in the editing process. Knowing how to color correct skin tones, smooth away imperfections, remove unwanted objects and a thousand more skills are very important and take a lot of time and effort to learn well. A photographer needs to be personable, not only to make your experience more enjoyable, but to appropriately interact with your other vendors, friends, and family members. Having the ability to relax subjects and achieve that vibrant look in photographs is a skill not everyone has. Your photo session should be enjoyable and not awkward. If you aren’t laughing and having a good time, it is your photographers downfall. Being the owner of a business also means being a responsible business person. Irresponsibility and excuses do not make for a well run business with satisfied clients. Having insurance, being in contact not only with you but with your planner and other family members in a timely manner, and providing the services that you promise is just the tip of the iceberg. Running a business isn’t for everyone. It is a 24/7 undertaking if it is done correctly. Experience photographing weddings is paramount. There is no stopping, no redoing, no time to think or correct yourself. Your photographer must know their equipment so well it doesn’t require thought. Being able to walk into a situation and assess light and adjust your settings in a split second is a must. You cannot replace the knowledge that years of photographing weddings brings. Amateurs offer discounted prices for a reason, and it is because they cannot guarantee they will be able to deliver what they are promising. I cannot stress this enough. Take care in choosing your photographer. These images are the only tangible remnant of this incredible time in your life.

FAQs

How many weddings do you book per year?

We don’t overbook ourselves. We limit our bookings to 30 weddings per year. This way we are fresh and ready to give each and every wedding all of our creativity and enthusiasm. This also means your editing is done faster, and your images are delivered sooner.

Who is your associate photographer?

Our second shooters are comprised of a team of full time, professional photographers. No interns, no students. This ensures quality of each and every image.

Do you have backup equipment ?

Yes, I own everything in duplicate, and your photographs are immediately backed up as they are taken ensuring there will be no technical difficulties causing loss of images.

Are all the images edited?

Yes, each photo is retouched individually.  No batch editing is done here at SRP, meaning every photo is perfect upon presentation.

Do I have printing rights with all of the packages?

Yes, the photographs are yours. We were just the lucky ones chosen to capture those moments for you. You will receive a flash drive in a presentation box with all of your high resolution, edited images from your wedding day no matter what package you choose.

What is the process when designing our wedding album? Do we get to choose the photos?

Yes, you will choose your photographs for your wedding album. Using those photos, I will design the album and send you a link to view. From there we can make any changes you like! We can change page colors, add text, switch photos around, even add or delete some. We will re-edit your album as many times as it takes to make it absolutely perfect.

Are you super annoying? Can I stand to have you around me all day?

Schedule a consultation and see for yourself! But really…everyone loves me.

How many photos can I expect?

Although it varies from wedding to wedding, generally 1,000 to 1,500 edited photographs are delivered. The variance is due to how many details there are to photograph, the amount of time allotted for posed photos, size of wedding party and guest list.

Will I get an online gallery? Will it expire?

You will have an online gallery for sharing. Your friends and family will have the ability to download the photos of their choice if they are given the password as well.
